Hi Krzystof,
As I have contributed with Romain to the development of KarafEE and speaks
about that at the last ApacheCon 2012 - Germany, I'm very concerned about
your email. As TomEE users are much more interested by non OSGI
applications development there is a great interest to move KarafEE
Hi Charles
I think, it's a good idea to move it to Karaf. Would it be a separate module
(e.g. ejb) of the Karaf source repository or a separate subproject (like
Webconsole, Cellar or EIK)? As I'm interested in contributing Karaf (and to be
a committer in the future) I'd like to help by this
Hi,
not in Karaf, I plan to add both jdbc and jms commands in ServiceMix.
As Karaf is a container, it should not embed such commands in the core.
It makes sense to have it in an optional feature.

Hi Graham,
why do you append in defaultRepositories ?
org.ops4j.pax.url.mvn.repositories is for that. You can append your
repository at the end of the list.
Don't forget the @id and @snapshots if the repository can contain
snapshots (else pax url will look for release only).

Hi Dan,
I used a lot kill -9 without problem, so I doubt it's the problem. It
may be cache corruption, but we need more details to find exactly the issue.
Could you elaborate your use case (especially what's the source of the
reboot) ?

Hi Charles,
I think that before replying to an user with this kind of assertion, it
should be discussed on the dev mailing list of both projects.
Anyway, both communities are in touch (I'm in touch with Romain and
Jean-Louis as well ;)), but AFAIR, we agreed to keep KarafEE in OpenEJB

Because by default, defaultRepositories refers to a local repo (file:), while
repositories refers exclusively to remote repos (http:), and this looks
significant to the new
Hi Azad,
Did you take a look on karaf-pax-exam ?
As I mentioned earlier, we tried pax exam and had issues that we could not
solve in reasonable time. The trial was done by a colleague of mine. So I
don't know the details. Is karaf-pax-exam different from just simple pax
exam? I am not really
As it turned out, the problem with factory already defined was a red
herring. It had to do with the fact that I was b=not stopping my framework
when my test completed. And in my setup (I am using scala sbt to run tests),
the factory hung around from one test to another. Stopping the framework in
Hi Graham,
Yes repositories can contain both local or remote URLs.
You can check the current configuration with:
config:list (service.pid=org.ops4j.pax.url.mvn)
in the repositories property.

The source of the issue is my app running into OOM, where JVM is at
the state where GC is constantly running to the point where JSW
issues initial shutdown ( normal kill ), and finally force kill
Looks like the combination of 2 kills get Karaf cache into corrupted state?
