Let me rephrase that:

2.  The possibility of /extending/ the standard iBatis array of return 
types to wire in a custom one without

needing XSL transformations etc (I hate XSL(tm)).  :)

If you are looking to create customized XML output, one approach I
have been looking at is using a rowhandler to do it.

It is very simple, efficient, and very flexible.
