[uml-devel] UML - Is it using swap space?

2005-01-20 Thread Gerhard Hannemann
Why does it seem that my UML does is not using its swap space? The memory usage drops down to just 1M yet tools such as top and free never indcate that any swap space is ever being used. I provide the UML with a 512M swap_fs file and swapon -s seems to indicate that its available. Thanks

[uml-devel] UML - stalling during large file transfers

2005-01-20 Thread Gerhard Hannemann
Encountered a baffling problem while copying large amounts of files from a archive (*.tbz) or from a remote system to a directory within a running UML system. The UML stalls while the IDE hardrive thrashes along for server minutes. It recovers, continues on with some more files, and stall again

Hi again, Problem solved with 2.6.9 vanilla and 2.6.9-bb4. Thank you very much for your answer, and sorry for not testing it on the latest kernels before. I thought there were no new versions when I saw 2.6.8.1 last on the website. Didnt knew 2.6.9 works right out of the box, Thank you again
