Most new features get tested against a single VM running CentOS 6.  I also
know of many who are running large clusters on CentOS 7.  Either of those
is probably your best choice.

CentOS 7 Base Environment

Hey everyone, I am installing CentOS 7 to install Apache Metron, but I have
a question : what is the best base environment to run it ? I ask this for a
single node AND for a cluster of several nodes! Also, it is to point out
that I would like to create a security system where I will have to
implement my own algorithms!
