Nutch segment merging and archiviy

I have setup nutch 1.15 with solr 7. Everything is working good. Question is on nutch post setup maintenance where I'm trying 2 shell scripts 1. Command to merge segments (weekly) 2. Archiving merged segments (monthly) in case I need to index them in future. Kindly help with commands I shall use.

Direct Nutch crawler to use different SOLR index writer?

I have two index writers defined in index-writers.xml 1) indexer_solr_1 2) indexer_solr_2 They each point to a different SOLR collection. I kick off the crawling using the Nutch crawler script (/bin/crawler) currently running it via cygwin I am not finding a way to tell Nutch when I run the cra
