This looks like a bug in 4.2.1. Can you elaborate more on the operation tried?
Were you trying to migrate a volume (data disk) that was detached from a
instance/vm to another storage pool?

Also make sure that the compute offering you use for deploying a vm has
sufficient RAM and CPU to boot.

When ever we see the error 'Unable to contact resource', I suggest to check the
host agent logs (for xen /var/log/SMlog).
It will give you idea of what is going wrong from the router. Most of times
there could be script execution failures.

I will try FreeBSD 10 + KVM later today and let you know. I can confirm that
FreeBSD 10 works wonderfully well on XenServer
Thank you Lucian, but I tried FreeBSD 9.2 64bit and FreeBSD 10 64bit,
either ISO did not worked for me.

Hey Marty,
thx for your reply. I mean, in general the self-fence make sense but i was
looking for a way to say "try to reconnect for 60seconds".
Would be cool if you can paste your solution here!
Thx

Hi we just tested the upgrade from 3.0.7 to 4.2.1 in our test environment
While the upgrade went smooth we see a big issue with vm naming in vmware.
With cs 3.0.7 vm's where named like this:
"i-id-number-user_entered_vm_name"
(with global setting of vm.instancename.flag = true)

Thank you, it clear out the confusing in my mind.

Hi,
I have this problem with my failover setup, I think however it's by design
to ensure data consistency and is more that the MySQL connections have
disappeared instead of it timing out.
I ended up creating a cron watchdog to start CS Management incase
it stopped, I'm sure there are more elegant

What exactly are you trying to "get by” here?
There are 4 traffic types in CloudStack - management, storage, guest and
public. So,

Hey Guys,
just some short question. Is there a way to increase the DB timeout for the
management server?
I use mha for mysql master / slave automatic failover. Everything works but
everytime I perform a master failover and the virtual IP changes, the
management server shows me immediately t

Well, I wrote that library so I’m using it. :)
I will try to make that library more agnostic to packer, that the plugin will
be in a more releasable state. We are testing a version of packer with
cloudstack support internally at work. That moving target is here:

Hi!
I have been working on adding support for Cloudstack in packer.io. This way it
is simple to create either new templates from scratch or update an existing
template. For creating the initial template from scratch we have a custom iPXE
ISO that will fetch the iPXE-script via userdata, boot ke
