Secondary storage must contain seeded tepmpaltes. Check them manually. Provide
management logs. Can't say more based on information provided.

I have deployed cloudstack 4.3 with septate database server. once initial
configuration finishes i do not see any system vm comming up on any of the
Xenservers (6.2 SP1).
I have tried following
1) deployed latest system vm template
2) reset network and reconfigured zone
3) reset entire db and
i have noticed bellow java error which states that cloudstack is not able
to create VM on primary storage with SR no
30d8270b-b490-28e7-af7e-35875f0a1d31. Therefore i have tried to add another
pool with different storage but there also i am getting same error.
Do i need to reinstall any Java pack
I think its because vhd-utils is not installed on cloudstack servers.. let
me try.. i will update you soon

Tere is something wrong with startup script under Ubuntu 14.04
1. There are 2 jsvc.exec processes running in memory
2. There is no cloudstack-management.pid file at /var/run
3. I can't stop process using /etc/init.d/cloudstack-management stop. It
reports OK, but processes are running.

CS is unable to create the vdi in the SR that you have prepared.
" can not create vdi in sr 30d8270b-b490-28e7-af7e-35875f0a1d31"
You will have to check and validate the SR.

You say you used 'pre-setup' but what type of storage is it, NFS, iSCSI, FC etc
It looks like the XenServer cannot write to the storage, so have you checked
permissions and also confirmed that the XenServer can create files directly on
the storage etc

Hi Tejas,
my guess is your are missing the vhd-util , please download and copy the
vhd-util to the xenservers.

I’m not sure, but I’ve hit such an issue when I removed the log files.
First kill all java processes (CloudStack related, if any). Can you try this:
chown cloud:cloud -R /var/log/cloudstack/management
And then try to start the management server again?

I have did this and checked permissions once again. It still
DEBUG:root:execute:sudo /usr/sbin/service cloudstack-management stop
DEBUG:root:execute:sudo update-rc.d -f cloudstack-management remove
DEBUG:root:execute:sudo update-rc.d -f cloudstack-management defaults
DEBUG:root:execute:sudo /usr/s
Its iSCSI storage... The issue is resolved. I forgot to check vhd-util
permission in some of the hosts. i gave the permission to 777 and now it
started working.

Is it possible to create an account that can see all templates in the database

We've done some automation around our Cloudstack installation, and we query the

As a ROOT user, you should be able to see all templates if you also
add listall and isrecursive
So, using CloudMonkey, under an Admin user keys, "list templates
templatefilter=all listall=true isrecursive=true" should list all
templates for every domain and project.

use templatefilter=all as admin.this will list all template in system.

Dear Tim Mackey,
I have a production environment using XCP (XAPI). As far as I know, the
difference between the use of XAPI and Xenserver is that Xenserver is an OS

management tools. While, XAPI is just the API used to consolidate

Sure enough.
Its been a while since I configured a new cluster, I completely forgot
they had their own over-provisioning limits.
Thanks!
