Hi Jessica,
Thanks for the doc and it looks fine. Some minor changes required,
The new template id in restore virtual machine API is optional parameter, if
not specified vm restores to the same template.
Additional thing we need to add is, we support base image update from vm
created from
Hi Jessica,
The Doc looks fine for me but the small change I would like to suggest is in
the very first line you have mentioned it as When you take a snapshot of a
data volume on VMware but this is not limited to the data volume the same
technique is applied for the root volume also.
Another question,
The same environment:CS4.0 + vsphere.
I found the template which I upload from CS is showing UUID as its template
name in vsphere
Can I change the name?
Thanks

I don't think you can. maybe in the db, but I'd do that only on a stopped system

We are running vsphere 5.1 and each time we define name, that name gets
appended in vsphere.
For example, if I define a hostname when I go through Add Instance Wizard,
the name that I define under Name field, when deployed will be
i-4-298-my-hostname-in-acs in vsphere.
The way we achieved
No, it is not currently supported to use customized template names

If I am using one NIC do I need to bond my private, public, and storage
networks to it?
Section 8.2.10.4 of the documentation mentions NIC bonding for XenServer,
which I am using for all host.
It says all NIC bonding is optional, so I wonder if all traffic will flow
properly without me doing

If I look in my Infrastructure and see no System VM's (it says No data to
show) and there is no secondary storage VM does that mean CloudStack did not
finish initial configuration?

I'm glad you found a solution. One possible problem is that the
CloudStack password reset script doesn't work with dhcpcd, so you will
need to update the script if you want to use the password reset
functionality. I've done this for another DHCP client (pump) and it is
a straightforward process.
If you completed the new zone wizard and there are no System VMs, there
may be a problem. Did the wizard give any errors? What is the status
of your host(s) in CloudStack (should be Up)?
Best regards,
Kirk

Hello,
Been playing with cloudstack for a while but the network still eludes
me.
When I create a guest network I'm only able to use
DefaultIsolatedNetworkOfferingWithSourceNatService network offerings
despite the fact that there are several other ones enabled, 7 in total,
the defaults.
