While adding Netscaler device it asks for Public interface and Private
Interface, need to understand what’s that in Netscaler? Is it like adding two
more virtual interfaces to Netscalaer device?

Right now there is only one management IP on it, do I need to add two more
interfaces?

Re: some issues after upgrade cloudstack to 4.9.2

2017-06-22 Thread Sebastian Gomez
The problem over upload from local and the problem with the console proxy
were not a problem with cloudstack, was a problem of our network
configuration.

As I told before, we have public IPs and private IPs routed into the
backbone network, so used as "public" IPs also, both mixed.
The systemvm since 4.6 has a script /etc/init.d/cloud-early-config which
now creates routes for private networks (10.x, 172.16.x, 192.168.x) if the
public network is really public. In our case it was a problem, because the
public network for the cloud service is really public, but our
WorkingStations have private IPs (10.x). In this case, when the console
proxy starts, there is a new route for 10.x network over the management
interface, and the connection can't be stablished. The traffic from our
stations comes from public interface and return through the management
network (and is not routed).

We solved the problem tunning this script, commenting the line "ip route
add 10.0.0.0/8 via $LOCAL_GW".

About the problem with upload from local, the reason is that we have not
well passed the certificates on our PRE environment, where we have tested
the upgrade.

Finally we have successfully executed the upgrade process, but with more
work than just the public process... But really, if everything were easy,
life would be boring!

Regads.

Re: Cloud Utilization

2017-06-22 Thread Sebastian Gomez
First of all, what means "instance utilization is 0%", just kernel
processes and maintenance tasks can increase CPU usage during this period.
No utilization means no logins?

I don't know any service/soft that do it, but you can do it yourself:

For example:
You can easily develop a script to be executed daily on each server to
detect if there is or not usage (whatever it means), and register into a
file (p.e. a counter). One the counter reaches the maximum (p.e. 3 days),
shutdown itself.
For other side, develop a script in other server to make queries on the
cloud database or cloud usage database to ask for instances which have more
than maximum days without being powered on, and call the API method to
destroy them.

Thinking about it I'm sure that people will find better ways to do it.
If you build the solution, please, consider sharing it!

Good luck.

2017-06-22 Thread Dag Sonstebo
1) You’ve not told us why you chose to redownload the system VM template – can
you elaborate?
2) Can you run: “SELECT * FROM cloud.vm_template where name like '%system%' and
hypervisor_type='XenServer';”
3) “So after cleaning up the 5TB worth of data (last Friday)….” – did you check
all your disk chains to ensure you didn’t wipe a base disk? If not then chances
are you wiped a template disk CloudStack now thinks is there.
Check this in template_spool_ref – work out from point 2) above what your
template ID is, as well as what your primary storage pool ID is, something like
this: “SELECT * FROM cloud.template_spool_ref where template_id=XYZ and
pool_id=12345;”
What is the downloaded state?
Check the install_path on your primary storage – does it exist?

I suspected storage a while back and noticed that the SSVM was recreating

we try to integrate keycloak as our SAML IDP. We use CS 4.9.2.0.

1. We defined users into LDAP and imported them in keycloak

In addition you have also stated “I redeployed
systemcl64template-5.6-xen.vhd.bz2 last week does that not recreated the uuid
?”

So the questions here are:
- why are you using 4.5 templates with 4.9? Did you recently upgrade or was
this put in wrong to start off with?
- what are you trying to do with “systemcl64template-5.6-xen.vhd.bz2”? My guess
is this is a typo? If you were trying to install the 4.6 template what process
did you follow?
- following on from this can you do a MySQL query listing the uploaded
template? Can you also check what the status is of this in your GUI – is it
uploaded to the zone in question and in a READY state? You can also check this
in the template_store_ref table.
- what is your global setting for “router.template.xenserver” currently set to?

I get the impression your environment is possibly managing to limp along using
4.5 system VM templates – if so I’m surprised if anything is working. For 4.9
you should be using 4.6 templates (e.g.
http://packages.shapeblue.com.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/systemvmtemplate/4.6/new/systemvm64template-4.6-xen.vhd.bz2
) - although I think maybe this is what you are trying to achieve?

2) VM i-153-446 – as you can see from the logs there’s not a log to go by:
"Unable to start i-153-446-VM due to ". However – you haven’t told us if this
is a new VM or existing? If it’s new it won’t necessarily be able to start
until you have the SSVM sorted in your Rushford zone. For further
troubleshooting you should also check the logs on the XS host where this VM was
trying to start.

3) Your issues could be storage related – do all SRs (like FlexSAN2-LUN0) show
as connected to your XS hosts in XenCenter? If not can you repair them from
XenCenter?

Hi Vijay,

Not a fix but my twopence worth - we came across a similar issue recently – our
finding was the SSL handshaking between management server and Netscaler failed
due to certificate error in connection with 512bit vs 2048bit certs in use on
the Netscaler side.

While adding Netscaler device it asks for Public interface and Private

more virtual interfaces to Netscalaer device?

Right now there is only one management IP on it, do I need to add two more
