HEADS UP - Site maintainance Sunday

2009-09-06 Thread Matthew Dillon
The *.dragonflybsd.org domain will be down sporatically tomorrow
morning, possibly into the early afternoon. Every machine except
the already-new Leaf is getting a makeover using drives and equipment
already present.

Older test boxes which are still faster then the really old hardware
e.g. crater is running on, and the recently bought 2TB drives will
be cycled into production use, and so forth. The last of the single-cpu
AMDXP hardware is being removed. The last RAID-5 setup I had is being
replaced by a single 2TB drive, and so forth.

The backup system will also switch from remote NFS mounts and daily
backups to HAMMER mirroring and continuous (bandwidth-limited) backups,
and hopefully by next week the offsite backup will be switched to
continuous HAMMER mirroring as well (verses the weekly bulk mirroring
it does now).

Excellent! I'm glad a solution was found that did not involve
making /bin and /sbin dynamic.
