Apply it under src/sys/dev/netif (HEAD/PREVIEW/1.8)
If no problems pop up no objection comes, it will be comitted one week later.

your patch installs and runs nicely on my thinkpad t42 (iwi).
No negative effects so far. What problem is it supposed to fix?
