Thanks to Johannes Hofmann's work, iwi(4)'s firmware is upgraded to 3.0.
You will have to download the new firmware image from:
http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php?fid=7
And then untar it to /etc/firmware/iwi/2200/3.0/
iwicontrol(8) will be dropped soon.
