Are you sure the config editor doesn't work if you are using forward slash?
I am able to save this as the keystore with
to jdk1.8.0_60. I'll set the VM in
ActiveDirectoryStudio.ini.

Directory Studio (including M10) has a problem with with DNs containing a
backslash ‘\’ character.
This problem appeared with 2.0 and has persisted ever since.
There appears to be an internal exception caused by the presence of a
backslash, which never appears to the user, but which stops
