I've noticed that sometimes Writer will open at the top of the file, but
the cursor is actually where I left it. If I type anything, the display
moves to the cursor, but if I click the mouse on something in the document,
that updates the cursor too.

Hi :)
Even if it is mythical or made-up or very generic info rather than real details
then it seems to work. has anyone tried just using a few spaces instead of
typing characters in?
