Hi Marc,
The point of the posts was to note that in fact it is easy enough to get
LO working on Yosemite but it requires a bit of messing about, some of
which is counter-intuitive.
Yes, the basic setup is :
- install Apple Java 6
- then install

Hi Tom, all
That crash is highly likely to be a Java issue, of course. Switch off Java
and the text files stop crashing.
On Yosemite, the crash is a LO issue because LibreOffice comes bundled
with at least one extension that invokes a JVM via a JNI
When I place the cursor at the beginning of a paragraph (left margin) in
Writer and insert a graphic, it always defaults to being center-aligned.
This isn't normally a big deal, but I need to put in a slew of these and

HI :)

There are many other contributors whose answers are always of a similarly

example - but i'd be hard-pushed to name anyone as prolific over such a
long time-span as Brian.
Regards from

I've used LO and its predecessors for about 15 years now. I recently
noticed that the dialog boxes for outline numbering have changed. In the
past, under the position tab for outline numbering, the numbering
position was determined by settings such as width of numbering and
minimum space to
