Hello!
I installed Libre Office 3.5.0rc3, English version. While the
installation itself was without problem, I ran into a strange behaviour
when I tried to open the templates dialog in Writer. I was met with an
error message "Error creating a new document: Templates already exists".
I installed LibO after first deinstalling OpenOffice.org 3.3. However, I
did not make a complete removal, and it seems that (besides the
.openofficeorg folder still existing in my home folder), LibO tried to
import my existing two templates from OOo. My templates seem to be there
in the LibO folder in my home, but I cannot access my templates despite
that (and I get the message as above).
The most obvious way to try to solve the problem, is of course to remove
my templates from my home LibO folder, but that did not solve the problem.
Anybody who has an idea? One attempt could be to save my templates in a
non-OOo/LibO-related folder, remove OOo as a complete removal - deleting
all configuration folders as well, install LibO as a clean install, try
the behaviour of the open templates dialog, and finally see what happens
if I copy my templates manually into the templates folder of LibO.
However, I have not tried this.
Since I need the functionality mentioned above, I chose to revert to OOo
3.3.
