I don’t understand why that works, but you correctly identified a workable
solution. I just ticked ‘on’ “Use LibreOffice dialogs” and it started
working fine. Problem solved!

Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes, before today, the Save As function was working fine in LO 6.3.2.
This afternoon I installed MS Office and the Save/Save As is completely
functional - so it's just in LO I have this problem.

I've been happily using LibreOffice for years without any problems, until
now.
Abruptly, on Windows 10, using Writer ver 6.3.2, I was unable to change the
name of existing .odt documents (but still able to save new documents, and
to save existing documents without changing the name.)
Result:
