I rarely use any hyphenations. I do know that you must go to ToolsOptionsLanguage Settingswriting Aids and go to the options box and check the hyphen options, that I find at the bottom of the list there. The Available language modules show that my setup has Libhyphen Hyphenator listed and

I've used OOo forever, and then jumped to LO, with Brazilian Portuguese and English dictionaries/hyphenation. Recently the English hyphenation has switched, apparently, to Portuguese. I've changed everything to English I can think of, have downloaded and installed the English dictionary etc., done
