Isn't spacing the gap between the labels. Spacing is ambiguous, pitch is
not. Some of the wording may seem strange at times but often is the
wording least open to mis-interpretation.

Pedro contacted me directly and has put me right and I now have it
working 100%.
He picked up my error and said "The trick is that the 'Pitch' means the
label width PLUS any following space" whereas I was putting in only the
gap between the labels,
