Libre Office (3.3.4) on GNU/Linux (Ubuntu 11.10) creates faulty spacing with some characters. Letter combinations that have the same width as the equivalent ligature (for example fl as two separate letters v. the f-l ligature) are spaced differently. It is possible to open a font in Fontforge and confirm the spacing of the characters; it is also possible to open a test file in another application (e.g. Abi Word) to confirm that the spacing is the same. Only Libre Office changes it.
