Re: [libreoffice-users] LO Toolbar Icons Missing after Updates

2019-02-18 Thread Steve Edmonds

Hi. I had this problem once and changed the button theme to resolve it.
This article talks about it.
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/162472/libreoffice-61-how-to-set-galaxy-icon-theme/

I can't remember exactly why this occurred on only 1 pc and not the
others and what I changed to, but changing the theme got my icons back.

The problem only seems to be with LO and other programs work OK.

After further reading it seems the problem is to do with Gnome3
integration but I cannot find any recent problems listed and do not
know what/where to report it and what files are causing the problem
and would appreciate some help in getting it resolved.

FYI I am running a fully updated Fedora 29 and have only installed
programs from Fedora Repository.

I have seen info about "libreoffice -gnome" had cause the problem in
the past but cannot find this for Fedora.

This problem has lasted for more than a month and no updates have
removed the problem.

Thanks

I'm not certain that everyone gets the same default settings with every release
of LO. The last download I made from the LO website (albeit a little while ago
v6.0.7.3) had a lot of settings defaulted to Spanish language and included
Spanish dictionaries etc. Spanish is not a language that I have ever used so it
could not have come from any previous settings I had made.

That was despite the LO website having recognized that I was after an English
version download which it claimed to have supplied.

Does the download you get vary perhaps according to which server/mirror happens
to get selected at that moment?

[libreoffice-users] "The automatic download of the update is currently not available."

2019-02-18 Thread Dave Stevens
I've got LibreOffice 6.0.5.2 and an update to 6.0.7 is said to be
available when I check for updates in the help menu of LOWriter. I get
the notice in the subject line showing at the same time. I can and have
installed from a manual download and there's no burning issue to
upgrade now, just curious, is this going to change? Or can I do
something to make it available?

I'm using Linux Mint 18.3.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Page number format in 6.2

2019-02-18 Thread waterbearer54
Thanks, Remy. It can be set from Format > Page > Page where there is a
setting for page number style. (I don't know how many times I have been
in that tab but simply ignored the page numbering.)

It seems that the default is for Roman numerals globally, which is
nuts. I did just go ahead and set it to Arabic in my default template.
As I did that first, I could not test, but I see no way to set page
number style by default outside of a template. Best, Roy

Re: [libreoffice-users] Page number format in 6.2

2019-02-18 Thread Remy Gauthier
Hi,

Not sure for 6.2 (I am currently using 6.1), but you can set the page
numbering like this:

- Insert Field -> Other fields -> Document Tab -> Select page and its
format on the right
- Styles -> Manage Styles -> Page Styles -> Select the current page
style, then right-click -> Modify -> Page Tab -> Page numbering

You can also edit the page style in your template to set it
permanently:

File -> Templates -> Open Template -> Select your default template

And then change the default page style or all the page styles you will
use to get the proper numbering format.

I hope this helps.

Rémy.

[libreoffice-users] Page number format in 6.2

2019-02-18 Thread waterbearer54
I know that I can set the page numbering format with a template, but is
there a way to set it globally? For 6.2 someone seems to have thought
it would be a good idea to have lower-case Roman numerals as the
default!

I have looked at help . . . which was of no help.

(Perhaps I had it defined by template before as I had to redo my
profile when upgrading to 6.2 in order to get addons working properly.
This is the first time I have had to create a new profile that since
starting to use LO several years ago.)
