The F4 shortcut is the wrong answer because F4 calls the datasource
window with tables and queries of the embedded form's database.
Command .uno:ViewFormAsGrid is accessible from the navigation tool bar's

Hello,

after a crash LO3.4 writer recovers documents, however it seems not to use the
regularly saved corrections.

However, looking up /tmp/.../0.odt I can find the very last corrections stored
and can manually recover from there.

Is this a flaw or a bad configuration at my system?

Re: [libreoffice-users] How do add percentage in Calc?

2012-03-05 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
It takes skill.  Didn't Isaac Newton write an entire book, a huge tome of a
book too, about 1?

There is an inconsistency which might be worth writing up as a bug-report
except that Excel does exactly the same and is possibly useful to some people.

Also some people on this list might not be ten yet (or do ten-year-olds do trig
functions and calculus nowadays?) or those of us that are decades older might
be too focused on 'higher planes' and not remember stuff like that from
school.

2012/3/3 Tom Davies tomdavie...@yahoo.co.uk:
 Hi :)
Ahah, now i see the original question it makes more sense! :)  If A1 is going
to contain a normal number and A2 a percentage then a 3rd cell such as A3
would be the best place for the answer.  It keeps the original number
unchanged so that you can check the result.

In A3 type in the formula given earlier
 =A1+(A1*A2/100)

This assumes the number in A2 is just written as a number without having the
% mark after it.  There is an inconsistency in that if you type in the number
 and then
 Format - Cell - General - Percentage
then the number would be shown as 290%.  However if you format the relevant
cells in advance, in the same way, and then type in the number 2.9 then it
shows as 2.9%.  Also if you don't bother with any formatting and just use the
% key on your keyboard to type in 2.9% then it is shown as 2.9% in the cell
and is treated as a number.  So, obviously it is wise to do a test-run first
to see if you get the result you expect.

Oh man, you just made a very simple thing like percent to look very complicated…
It's very easy, most of us learned about it at the age of something
like ten, maybe earlier in some other countries, I don't know.
Just type 100 into A1, then 2.9% into A2 (LibreOffice Calc will
automatically convert it to 2.9/100 for you, but it still shows up as
”2.9%”, which is the same thing anyway), and finally =A1*(1+A2) in A3
and you'll get 102.9 as a result in A3, simple as that.

If you want it to be even more obvious what's going on, enter
=A1*(100%+A2) in A3. 100% will automatically be changed to 1, though,
so you'll get the same =A1*(1+A2) anyway.

Kind regards

Johnny Rosenberg
ジョニー・ローゼンバーグ

A percentage is really just a number over or divided by 100 of course.
So 2.9% is really 2.9/100 which is obviously 0.029.  Typing in 0.029 can
cause further confusion of course. lol

 Tom :)

I have no idea how to add a percentage to a number in Calc.

 Example;

Cell A1 has the number 100

 Cell A2 has a percentage- 2.9%

I want to add 2.9% to the number in A1 so that the answer is in cell A1.
 That is- 100  +2.9%
(just for your reference- the percentage in A2 is always changing from my
 input)

How in the world do I do it?

You're presumably talking about mailmerging?

What (type of file) are you merging into your doc file?

Tentatively, you should just be able to change the fields in your doc

it'll automatically recognise them).

This does depend on the details of how you're doing what you're doing

This is for users of LibreOffice: *SEE*

has the document listed below.

The Calc spreadsheet include was made with OpenOffice 3.2 with 3 Manual
Row-Breaks and DOES print correctly in OpenOffice 3.2, but does NOT print
correctly in LibreOffice (/nor OpenOffice 3.3/). *There should NOT be a
difference on how Manual Row-Breaks are handled.*

Users should NOT have to modify Calc spreadsheets between verisons of
LibreOffice nor OpenOffice.

The incorrect behavior of *Manual Row-Breaks *in OO 3.3+ ALSO appears in
LibreOffice.

According to a Newsgroup post there is a new RC release of LibreOffice 3.5.?

PLEASE, can testers test the Spreadsheet that does NOT print Manual Breaks
in
3.3bug-report, and check print results against PDF Print - Spreadsheet
with 3
Manual Row breaks CORRECTLY Printed above.

I am trying to assess IF the bug got corrected or NOT.

documents, but can not seem to see any self-signed certificate I create on
my Ubuntu system (created with either gnomint or tinyca2).

Does anyone know the trick to this process? How can I make LibreOffice
 aware of my certificates?

You might also want to look for existing bugs in the freedesktop
bugzilla, I seem to recall this is a known issue with self-signed
certificates.

I am new here so excuse me if this isssue has been already discussed.

When manually reformatting a 3.5 Write text the .line scroll is

Second: What about a new Format - Paragraph option to auto-replace
all alone line-feeds (0x0A) with CR-LF (0xOD0A); preventing the need
to fix manually all wrong right justfied last lines of paragraphs.

Thanks.

English US or not. Only if I set the 'locale setting' to US does it
accept 1-mar-2011. I am trying make sense of some weird data format
(2011MAR) which is English based. To me that seems a common
situation, and I would not want to change the LO global localization
settings as that changes all date formats in the spreadsheet to
english. Couldn't datavalue take the locale of the formatted cell?
Or is there a better trick to ge this done?

If you cannot find a direct way of doing this sort of thing, you can
always do the conversion yourself explicitly. It's no doubt sensible
for you to keep Dutch settings, so you will probably need to write up
the English month name abbreviations. Construct a table of these,
with JAN, FEB, MAR, and so on in one column and the numbers 1 to 12
in the next column to the right. Select all twenty-four cells, go to
Insert | Names | Define..., and give the table a name - perhaps Months.

Suppose your value 2011MAR is in A1. Try this formula:
   =DATE(LEFT(A1;4);VLOOKUP(RIGHT(A1;3);Months;2;0);1)

The LEFT() function takes the first four characters as the year. The
RIGHT() function takes the last three characters, and the VLOOKUP()
function looks these up in the Months list to produce a month
number. These are combined by DATE() to give the first of the relevant month.

 I trust this helps.

Hi :)
That looks a lot like GnuLinux rather than Bsd?  Which distro?  Ubuntu?  Which
version?  Have you upgraded the distro to a different version number since last
watching the videos?

Have you used a package manager to update everything?  You might need to
install some codecs or something?  In ubuntu it might be worth running through
the medibuntu guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
I tend to keep the non-free components but there is a section in there that can
help you remove them if you want to be an OpenSource purist.  You could try
keeping them for now and then remove them another day of course.

embedded videos (mpg1 and mpeg2). Until LO 3.4 they work perfect. But
in LO 3.5 the same presentation hangs LO and make it very very
slo.
Running from console I get this:

(libreoffice:11787): GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin
'/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstffmpeg.so':
/opt/libreoffice3.5/program/../ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by
/usr/lib/libdirac_encoder.so.0)

I've tried inserting videos in a new presentation and the same happens.

Thanks in advance.

A.

2012-03-05 Thread Sylvain Bromberber
Still no success. None of the buttons seem to do what you say. I then tried
to modify the toolbar by adding buttons but none of the buttons made
available under modification seem to do the job. Can you give me the name of
the button or describe it? Thank you for your help!

The toolbar with all the buttons to let the form user interact with the
loaded form by navigation, delete, save, reset, filter, sort. The last
button is the one which opens the additional grid view.
The navigation bar may have been disabled in the form properties.

Download this:
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=11250
and open any of the forms. The navigation bar refers to the records of
the respective main form.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Fwd: Writing Aids problem

2012-03-05 Thread webmaster for Kracked Press Productions

Well, it would be nice if someone could come up with a solution to send
to this person who sent the question to me instead to the proper place -
here or Nabble.

I do not know which Writing Aids is being asked about. I do not
remember which are included with the installs, or is the aids being
Writer's Tools, Writer's Extras, Linquist, and the others that are
part of the list of Extensions listed on the NA-DVD extension page?

All these writing aids seem to work for me. But I use Ubuntu and I bet
the person is using Windows. At least if they are asking the question,
then they must be using either 3.4.4 or 3.4.5, since I have not created
a 3.5.0 set of pages yet.

Hi :)
Does anyone know if re-naming the User Profile would help?

It would get all the setting back to factory defaults but is that likely to
create other problems for a screen-reader?

Tom :)

Can anyone help this person off-the-list?

I was sent this question to my LO NA-DVD webmaster email.

I downloaded that file but none of the buttons were buttons that I already
had. None of the buttons opened or made available anything like uno: View
Form As Grid or anything like it.
