Re: [libreoffice-users] 5.2 64bit DEB will not allow paper size selection

Are you using CUPS as your printer driver?
I had a problem with an app that did not allow me to configure the
printer options in its print dialog, which was critical to selecting
the 11x17 size I wanted from a normally letter size by default
printer. I solved my problem by creating a logical printer in CUPS
which I configured to default to 11x17 paper for this printer. So
now, whenever I want to print an 11x17 size in an app that doesn't
allow or implement 11x17 selection, I just select the 11x17 logical
printer in the list of printers. That works fine in my case. It may
be your workaround solution. If your ubuntu is not using CUPS, then
YMMV.

I install the "stuff" from the website for

HP Linux Imaging and Printing - Print, Scan and Fax Drivers for Linux -
hplip-3.16.9.run

I have 2 HP printers - Laserjet 2300 (letter size) and Officejet 7000
(up to 13x19 inches)

Since this was what HP.com pointed me to (since 2009?) I use that for
Ubuntu.

One thing I tend to do is using Export to PDF for my poster making on
11x17 or 13x19 inch borderless printing. When I test print the
documents that are not "borderless", I skip the Exporting option. Right
now, I do more printing that does not need the borderless printing
option over the more photo style of printing.

So when I do printing that needs printing into the HP's default minimum
sheet borders, I have to use the PDF printing, and the borderless sheet
size. If I try to print out a borderless sheet with LO (and not PDF
Reader), there are issues.

does libreoffice run them automaticly, disable them or ask the users?
i want to know its default behaviour.

The default behavior is, that LibreOffice disables unsigned macros. But
you will get a message to inform you, that there is a macro in the document.

i am realy worried for my files which are very valuable for me, so
please help me.
God bless you all and divine mercy and bounties i request for you all.

If you go to menu 'Tools' and therein item 'Options', you get the dialog
for making settings. In the first part 'LibreOffice' you will find the
item 'Security'. And there is a button 'Macro Security'. The default
setting is 'high', but if it is not secure enough for you, you can set
it to 'very high' and make sure, that there are no entries in tab
'Trusted Sources'.

Kind regards
Regina
