You can substitute any string of characters for a paragraph mark (the
result of hitting the "Return" key on your keyboard). To do so, you
must enable regular expressions on the Search & Replace panel (open the
additional options) and then you set the replace string to "\n"
(without the quo
I was using Kompozer. I might try Quanta or Seamonkey which are in my
repositories.
I produce content snippets rather than complete pages and LO output took
a lot of cleaning up when I tried that.

I insert a table, R-click and select table properties, then try to
change the line style/colour:
