produce an email app
better than Outlook, it's pretty appalling, and in fact it's
"integration" into M$Office is fairly limited as far as I can see.
However, LO/OO do not have a related email facility...
Just thought I'd make the suggestion. :-)

a
good fit. It's a stable and very capable product, now an open source
application.
Integration would, of course, be a job, but as an extremely capable
application in its own right it might/should be a better place to
start than from scratch?

No.

are already set to be handled by LO (not
OO). In fact, looking at another type of file that could be handled by LO, for
example .txt, LO *is* now in the list of possibly programs as well as OO, so I
think the issue has been fixed.

Ah, ok, great. I'll have another clear look at it (mebbe it's fixed in
3.3.1?) And if it's still a problem I'll check the bug reports and report
it if it's not already there.
Many thanks

I assume this would give me the same issue.
I s'pose I ought to be able to look for the LO executable. However, with the
installation of LO3.3.1 the has now gone away

This might be a "thread hijack" (sorry), but I've not been able to
set LO to be my default for opening... Anything at all. Windows (XP
Home) doesn't offer it to me at all, only OO. Yes, I do have both
still installed, but...

Have I misunderstood, or observed wrongly, somewhere?

Windows, LO3.3.0 build 6 (obviously?)
If I size my Writer window to page width and then create a note the
view moves right to show me the note and I get a scroll bar, which is
fine.
However, I cannot scroll back to see just the page and not the note.
This bug was not present in OO.

V3.3 under Windows (I haven't tried Linux yet) the list of documents
available on the dropdown on the LibreOffice start screen doesn't
have full length tooltips, the one on the "File/Recent Documents"
does.
This (of course) means that long file paths hide filenames.
