Re: [libreoffice-users] Comments of replacing OO with LO
Hi :) I think the indications are meant to suggest that the user removes OOo. They do usually work fine together but if weird problems and crashes start happening then removing one or other usually solves the problems. Since both LO and OOo are free and fairly easy to install (and un-install) this problem is a lot less of a hassle than it might otherwise be. The trick is to keep the config-folder. Possibly back-up before uninstalling = otherwise you might just get default settings back if you are too rigorous about uninstalling. I had some issue with dependancies now that you mention it, but can't recall exactly how I got around it. -- See Ya' Howard Coles Jr. John 3:16! -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to users+h...@libreoffice.org List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/users/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity *** -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to users+h...@libreoffice.org List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/users/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity ***
Re: [libreoffice-users] Comments of replacing OO with LO
Hi, Just FYI. I have the latest of both OO and LO installed on my iMAC G5 (OSX 10.6.6) without any problems. LO did not uninstall OO nor do I recall it offering to do so. I'm still trying to decide which suite to use. Re: [libreoffice-users] Comments of replacing OO with LO
Gordon, I have seen a number of variations on this remove command. None worked on my system, hence the need to use synaptic to mark and remove packages.
