We were looking for a way to create equations, and then have them exist as
single files, preferably as a pdf file, with as few steps as necessary.
In our work environment we then take the pdf files, and can use them in various
formats, for inclusion into our documents.

There are 3 print options check-boxes there.
One was your border option that you said was in the PDF file you
exported to.
To be honest, I never really used Math, just played with it from time to
time.
