This is the first candidate for the release of Apache Kafka 2.2.0.
This is a minor release with the follow highlight:
- Added SSL support for custom principle name
- Allow SASL connections to periodically re-authenticate
- Improved consumer
We use sparse files by default so they don't actually take space (at least
on Linux). However, there was a bug in Java 8 where sparse files were
taking all the space. It was fixed in Java 8 update 202.
