Can someone send me a sample configuration file to connect to CIMD2
smsc?I need it badly. I just can't make my kannel installation send
sms to smsc.

I always got the following log:
send-SMS request added - sender:tester:123 192.x.x.x target:123456789
request: 'TEST'

RE: cimd2_get_packet: read failed

2005-07-26 Thread Paul Keogh
Why is it everytime I send sms to SMSC using the built in
 sendsms I got ERROR:
 cimd2_get_packet: read failed?

You need to talk to whoever is hosting the CIMD system.

The trace suggests (to me) that the CIMD login succeeds, but that
the remote peer subsequently closes the connection, and hence any
further I/O operations on that socket fail.

You could verify this by doing an ethereal trace on the connection.

I think we should consider people who actually read their list email,

IMHO, authentication of email is so good, either. Original beauty of

2) Organisation. Beside major groups like bugs, devel, user, most

3) Traffic. I'm an Internet Ecologist(tm) and I strongly see the

IMO It would be great if you consult the Kannel project
maintainers and have their views about it, so that you can
have official forums just like the mailing list

yes, I agree that the they should be on the kannel site
hosted on a subdomain or something like kannel.org/forums

The only problem with forums is that they also need to
closely moderated because of spam and other useless messages
that people often post

Concatenation and dlr over SMPP

Hi,

When sending long message (more that 160 chars), kannel sends two submit_sm
PDUs, first one with registered_delivery flag , second one without it.
Thus, when first message is delivered to phone (without knowing if second one
reached phone) it removes dlr from database.
Is it supposed to be that way, or it is a bug?

I don't think it's bearerbox's fault. It would involve major memory leaks and I don't think that's the case.

It looks like you are not short of memory (360Mb out of 1 Gb is more than enough). Maybe you don't have swap space enabled? Please run top again and look for the a line like this:

Swap: 1052248k av, 3512k used, 1048736k free 304424k cached

If it's not there or it shows 0k size, it's not activated or at least not working as expected. In that case, when you approach your memory limit, you'll start to experience problems.

If swap is ok, then the problem should be elsewere, start with ps auxw | more and try to look who's eating all thos megabytes of RAM.

Hope it helps,
