I don't use CentOS, but why do you think that the issue will persist with Fedora? Fedora has newer kernels so may have already addressed this issue. Perhaps, if you want to try it out, try out one of the LiveCDs first with Fedora 21, due out tomorrow, and see if the issue still carries over?
