I had the same problem. Group permissions on unix_chkpwd, I believe. Here's how you can fix it: Boot the computer and jam ESC untiL the GRUB menu comes up (you'll know it when you see it). Select the topmost Fedora kernel (there may be only one). Hit 'e'. Scroll down to the 'kernel' line and hit

Subject is the error line I get when I try to change a password from single-user mode. I got the same error last time I tried to install Fedora 13 with the same situation. I can't log in as a user or as root, nor can I change the passwords. It's a Gateway MT3421, if it matters. AMD Turion64 with
