After I unolock the screen, firefox seem slow to recognize mouse or
keyboard input. There is a period of about three minutes where no matter
what I do it will not register with firefox (switch tabs, try to click on

There is an add on that sort of does that. But it turns out, that it needs
javascript to do this and there was at least one compromize that worked

I found this somewhere a while back and it helps greatly
with gtk scrollbars:
