can i do the $subject somehow, even for the directory manager?
once i set up the dirsrv to readonly, it refusing the replication :) as
logical..
I want a local replica, but without the possibility to screw it up, just
authenticating from it.

Make sure your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/wlan0 (or eth1, whatever your
interface may be) has the boot at enable option
On CLI as root:
iwconfig mode Managed
iwconfig ssid myessid
dhclient wlan0 (or whatever your interface may be)

It's normally easier to boot into single user mode and change it to something

The right way is to boot into single user mode. These will also work if
your account has sudo access
sudo su -
or
sudo /etc/shadow
and remove the root
