Do you really need to run the 32-bit version? It looks like the live
image respins are only done for 64-bit. I was going to suggest using an
F27 live image instead, but I can only find netinst images. The spins
don't seem to be built. However, I did find ones for rawhide (future
F28). You could try that.

Now that we know both machines are on the same subnet, you are in for basic
network troubleshooting. Unfortunately, the internet is saturated with
obsolete and
just plain wrong information. You need to study man pages for the "ip"
and "ss".
https://devopscube.com/list-linux-networking-troubleshooting-and-commands-
beginners/
looks current.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/50098/linux-
network-troubleshooting-and-debugging
is a helpful resource.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/
1520/troubleshooting/guide/TrbleshtMesh.pdf
may be helpful

It would be a good idea to study and run the examples from the devops page
on your systems to see if any anomalies emerge.

Is B using wifi or cable? Did you get your configuration from the vendors
docs?
Normally, mesh means 2 or more routers, but this is an area were vendors
use
proprietary algorithms, so you may need to ask the vendor for
recommendations.

I run a setup with two routers in "mesh" mode and a wifi to ethernet bridge
for
an office with multiple ethernet-connected systems, but I can also connect
directly with ethernet cable to either of the two wireless mesh nodes. I
have
not seen asymmetries such as you encountered. I wonder if C needs to use
"mesh" mode -- the most common use case for extenders is for systems that
need internet access and don't run services like sshd for other systems. I
have
seen reports of ssh problems using extenders with headless rPi boards.

Thanks. I can get a console and log in. I ran "dnf update" to update to

Take a screen snapshot or photo, upload it to something like pastebin
and include a link to the pastebin upload in your message. Do NOT
attach the screenshot to a message here in the list.

I have fully updated F26 systems and the login displays have not changed for
me.  So,
I can't think of what may have happened for you.

I am not entirely clear on what you display looks like now.  Possible to post a
screenshot or photo?

Actually the display manager is sddm:
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 36 6 lug 00.04
/etc/systemd/system/display-manager.service ->
/usr/lib/systemd/system/sddm.service

The date of the file is Jul 06, so I think no changes was done after
the date.
So the question is, why it is so different after an update?

The output of

Will point to the display manager you're using

What is your login screen? GDM? SDDM? Other?
It never showed a list to me, but it depends on what do you use and how do

The ip based access control in my setting is only to give a additionally
control beside the firewall. The Directory should not to be accessible
from public internet at all. But for the case there is any error on
firewalling I want to protect the whole directory. Other access rights
are more granular.

Login Page changed after last fedora 26 update

2017-11-13 Thread ogio spam
Hi all,
before the last updates, after power on, my fedora 26 showed a list of
users and asked for password.
I use KDE.

After last upgrade (I can't remember what changed, but some related to
KDE and X11) the login requires user and password, and it no more lists
users and pictures.

Can someone explain me why every update change the behaviour of the
system? And what appened?
