Haha indeed. I am sure I would love to give advice about anything from dining
room etiquette to how to wax floors but I'm definitely not equipped to give
proper advice. I can also give financial advice and relationship advice but it
is probably not very good advice.

I think the best we can do for this question is tell the OP what we expect and
how we'd handle this situation given the limited information. Probably not very
helpful to OP.

Sincerely,

It is just my luck that I'm very good at proving myself wrong. Had I not quoted
anything (like I initially proposed), people would see just a lone "Thank you,
Bill" with no context.

I learned something new. Thanks, hyper kitty :p

I have had some positive feedback saying this here and while it is a bit
extreme I think it is also a good compromise.

Don't quote the entire email. In fact, don't quote anything at all when you
reply. On k-9 mail there's a little x button (in the default config) that I can
click to get rid of all the quotes text.

I think we should always do that except when you want to call attention to a
particular snippet (I hope no more than about three lines).

I love you all.

Yeah, if just use the website and never open the app it is fine.

Also pidgin is a great idea to talk to people who are on Skype. Ideally though
when we say alternatives to Skype I assumed we meant we are replacing both ends
of a conversation.

I think both top posting and bottom posting are asinine. The correct answer is
to delete the quoted text and reply.

If there's something you're replying to in particular, maybe quote that one
line but there's no need to quote the entire thread so far in every email in
the thread.

Just my not so humble opinion.

I love you all xx.

Re: is there such a thing as a linux "user profile"?

2018-02-20 Thread chicago
You can configure multiple ssh keys but that's an ssh profile. Also you can
have separate Firefox prprofiles but I doubt they mean that.

I think a standard "profile" would be a great idea but it would need buy in
from everyone.

Cheers!

There is a new signal desktop built with electron or something but no fedora

My main purpose is to get it usable again, preferably with Fedora
27, if that's possible. (I run F27 on all our other machines.)

I'd prefer to examine it first, if there's a way. If I run a USB
cable between it and a F27 PC, can I then mount it as if it were a

Fwiw, it mounted and opened UBCD; but when I chose "CPU Info"

went

black.

I don't speak from any authority but I'm not surprised. I mean we can't even

has its own clipboard.

I'm amazed every day things work as well as they do with people like these
making decisions.
