Hello Shankhadeep,
Thank you for your information. I am able to setup such a virtual cluster using
another cloud middleware like OpenNebula so I can understand the situation.
What I wanna make clear is:
- This is a kind of Master/Slave cluster: 1 head node and N worker nodes.
- We can launch a
Hello,
New functionality attach / detach disks in ONE 3.6 is very interesting. Is
there any mapping yet with OCCI requests to trigger those actions on VM?

Hello,
I upgraded my installation from ONE 3.2 - 3.6 with running virtual
machines without trouble, but I am facing some problems with the new LVM
datastore. I have some hosts with LVM (no CLVM!) and the volume group
vg_cloud.
Creating the datastore works without problems. The image is already

Hello Stefan,
Yes, there was a major change in the SOURCE attribute between the versions
you mention. The current LVM drivers don't support SOURCE the way you are
using them, since the expect a specific format for the SOURCE and your
example /dev/vg_cloud/execnode doesn't work since it doesn't

Hello Jaime,
I followed your steps, but they are not working for me.
I put the raw image in /scratch/execnode.img and created a template for
it with the PATH attribute. I did this on host01, my front end with oned
running etc.
I registered the image and ONE created a LV on host03, one of my LVM
Hi,
Persistent Images cannot be used by more than one VM, but as you said
simultaneous clone operations should be allowed.
Thank you for reporting it, we'll fix it in the next release [1]

Hello,
sorry I have asked you for sunstone.log/error where it should have been
occi-server.log/error.
Still, thinking of it, it might be a problem with an old version of
sinatra. Can you do a 'gem update', relaunch occi-server and retry?

Stefan,
You are right. It's a bug. We've created an issue and uploaded a patch:
http://dev.opennebula.org/issues/1358
We're also going to add to the know issues page [1] and the lvm
documentation guide [2].

Hi Jaime,
the fix is working for me. Thank you.
I have to see, if this new LVM datastore works for my use case. I am not
using CLVM, so I think I have to change the drivers a bit. Because
Snapshosts with CLVM will not work with RHEL6 :/

Hello,
Your resources need to be placed in clusters and then you need to select
one cluster for them to appear on the list...
Is this the problem?

I'm afraid yes, resources need to be placed in one cluster in the zone. If
you don't need clusters, just create 1 and place them all in it anyway,
and then you will be able to select it from ozones.

The same results from chromium and firefox.
It seems to be an older version of sinatra installed with Opennebula

ii ruby-sinatra
1.2.6-1+build1
ah.. perhaps uninstalling the package and [re]installing latest version
with 'gem' helps then?

Hello,
I had a problem like that, you have to install in your Windows the Virtio
drivers:
http://kahdev.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/using-virtio-drivers-in-a-kvm-windows-guest-vm/,
in my case it were Red Hat Virtio controllers.
Hope it helps,

Hi,
We forgot to announce in this thread that this issue was addressed for the
final 3.6 release.
You can now have more than one system datastores, and set a different one
for each cluster. See [1] for more information.
Thank you for your feedback!
Carlos.

Hi Chris
iSER will work seamlessly as long as you run it on the hosts, it just
requires a compatible iSER target. TGTD should work, although the iser
target I tested with was a zfs appliance. I've never tested a Linux iSER
target solution. One commercially supported solution you can try out is
Hi Quynh
Well, you can do the following
- Create a master node template and slave node template, make their
configuration such that they keep that relationship, one way ssh key etc
- Deploy the master node and configure the software on it then deploy as
many slave nodes to connect
Hello Shank,
I thank you so much for your description.
But we are using virtual machines, so changes and configuration on each virtual
node will be lost when it terminates. (1)
Every time we launch a cluster, we may change the number of slave nodes, up to
the problem size. (2)
So could you
