Hi,
You can manually deploy the VMs in an specific host, just select the VM and
apply the deploy action.
You can also define deployment requirements in the VM Template, you should
check the placemente section of the VM Template.

Hi,
Quick question about the TOKEN_PASSWORD in the User template.
I (think I) found a reference to it in the opennebula-gate docmentation but
nowhere else.
Is this parameter only used by opennbula-gate or am I missing something?

It can certainly happen that two VMs get the same VNC port if you have
really old VMs running. The ports are recycled and is calculated this
way:
base_port + ( oid % (limit - base_port) )
* base_port is got from the config file, 5900 by default
* oid is the VM id
* limit is 65535
You may get

We have changed the way we upload images in Sunstone and should be more
resilient in the next version of OpenNebula.

Dear OpenNebula Community
I understand that there is no live migration functionality to public

But what’s about manual migration or portability of virtual machines?
Is there a way to migrate virtual machines to or from opennebula?

Hello,
Thank you very much for your so quickly response, but I would prefer not to
change any OpenNebula script.
Anyway, I wonder why that simple configuration doesn't work. Could someone
who has integrated OpenLDAP groups with OpenNebula let us know his
configuration and OpenLDAP entry types?
Hi
These two are on our radar and probably scheduled for the next release. I
totally agree that we need to simplify the provision process even more.
About feature 1.
We have two issues:
[1] Clone a running VM. http://dev.opennebula.org/issues/2637
[2] Clone a template .
Hi,
On Wednesday next week I'll be at CloudOpen in Dusseldorf giving a talk and

Hi Cyrill,
Usually our approach is not to migrate images between providers. In the
medium term it is a nightmare, multiple versions of the same image spread
across different clouds, it is very difficult to distributed patches and

Hello,
Thanks for the info. Updating the VM template really solves the problem. I was

Greetings,
I've played with it but had some issues with the network (which may have
been my fault). Unfortunately, I couldn't troubleshoot it because I was
unable to set a password through cloud-config because opennebula kept
interpreting the dollar signs in the password hash as variables. Note
We have been doing bulk tests of the OpenNebula 4.8 econe-server.
With just a straight econe-run-instances we can get up to 1000 VM's (the limit
of our current subnet)
started fairly quickly (about 30 minutes)
But in practice we are using a more complicated sequence of EC2 calls via
HTCondor.
During most of the time we have been running OpenNebula 2 and 3 we have been
using a
rank based on FREEMEMORY. We are now doing tests using OpenNebula 4.8, in a
use case
where we are filling up an empty cloud. FREEMEMORY still in theory should be
an accurate value
but the problem is that 6-7
