Re: [one-users] VNC problem: Failed to connect to server (code: 1006)

2013-04-29 Thread ahernandez
Hi People, Daniel Molina (dmol...@opennebula.org), and me Angel Miguel
Hernandez (ahernan...@tesla.cujae.edu.cu), find the solution for problem
with VNC. When you try open VNC of Virtual Machine, you obtain Failed
to connect to server (code:	1006). The solution for the problem is
following the step of this web site:

http://t3chnot3s.blogspot.com.es/2012/03/how-to-enable-vnc-access-to-vms-on.html

1- Login to the vSphere host either at the console or remotely.
NOTE: On the console, this requires logging into the ALT+F2 screen as
root or other admin with permissions, going to TROUBLESHOOTING OPTIONS,
and enabling either ESXi Shell (console shell access) or SSH (remote
shell access).

2- Change owner on firewall folder and services.xml file
\etc\vmware\firewall\services.xml

I did the following (as this was my own lab in a protected
environment):

#CD /etc/vmware
#CHOWN -R root firewall/
#CHMOD firewall/

NOTE: Use ls -l (lower case L) to see permissions on the
FIREWALL folder.

Then…
#CD firewall/
#CHMOD service.xml

NOTE: Use ls -l (lower case L) to see permissions on
SERVICE.XML file.

3- Edit the SERVICE.XML file to create a VNC service.
NOTE 1: Use VI or another text editor to add the below text at bottom
of the file (assuming it is still in a default format).

NOTE 2: If you have modified your firewall then your service id may be
different! This should be a sequential number which you can get from the
previous listed service. By default it should be approximately 0032.

!-- VNC --
  service id=0032
idVNC/id
rule id=''
directionoutbound/direction
protocoltcp/protocol
porttypedst/porttype
port
   begin5800/begin
   end5999/end
/port
 /rule
 rule id='0001'
directioninbound/direction
protocoltcp/protocol
porttypedst/porttype
port
   begin5800/begin
   end5999/end
/port
 /rule
 enabledtrue/enabled
 requiredfalse/required
  /service

NOTE 3: Use i (lower case) to insert text in VI.
NOTE 4: Use [ESC] to exit insert mode within VI.
NOTE 5: Use :x (i.e. colon then lower case x) to save and write
changes.
NOTE 6: You will notice in the above settings I am opening all ports
between 5800 and 5999. You may not wish to do this!!

4- Save Services.xml file
NOTE: Any errors at this point will be file/folder permissions related.

5- Refresh firewall rules
esxcli network firewall refresh
esxcli network firewall ruleset list (for see the rules)

And the problem solved

Thank to all that colaborate in the solution!!, and I send a
big thanks to Tino Vasquez.

Hi,

1) Check that you've installed novnc (if not go to /usr/share/one
and run

./install_novnc.sh)
2) If novnc is installed check if you have set 0.0.0.0 address in

3) If you are running iptables try to stop the firewall maybe you
need a

It looks like you installed OpenNebula self-contained
(ONE_LOCATION=/srv/cloud/one) and noVNC system wide. Try reinstalling
noVNC and set the ONE_LOCATION env var before running the installation
script.

vnc_proxy_path will be modified by the script, you don't have to edit it.

Cheers.

 Thanks in advance .

YES! This was the issue ...

There was set VNC_WSS="YES" for oneadmin user, I changed it to "NO",
restarted sunstone and everything works.

Thanks!

By the way - I'm sure I didn't change this properties anytime - did
it changed from ONE version 3.8?

[one-users] VNC problem from Sunstone interface

2012-11-06 Thread Jan Benadik

Hi all,

I have a problem to start VNC session from Sunstone interface.

I have Ubuntu 12.04 Server with Opennebula 3.8.1 installed, the
newest version of noVNC (no error message), restarted oned,
sunstone-server and occi-server too.

After restarting, the python processes are:
oneadmin@myto-node:/usr/share/opennebula$ ps aux|grep
python
nova  5838  0.0  0.2 118608 23796 ?    S    09:56   0:00
python /usr/bin/nova-novncproxy --flagfile=/etc/nova/nova.conf
--web /usr/share/novnc/
oneadmin  6835  0.4  0.1  93068 16816 pts/1    S    10:09   0:00

oneadmin  6869  0.0  0.0   9516   908 pts/1    S+   10:10   0:00
grep python

When I try to start VNC session from OCCI interface - everything
  works, VNC session is established.
If I try to start VNC session to the same VM from SUNSTONE
interface, a message "Server disconnected (code: 1006)" occurs
immediately and python processes are changed:

Any chance the "Use Secure WSS" is checked in sunstone config? Can you check/uncheck and retry with it unchecked just in case?Otherwise, kill your sunstone proxy and restart it manually:python /usr/share/opennebula/websockify/websocketproxy.py
--target-config=/var/lib/one/sunstone_vnc_tokens 29876and see if it says something interesting to the console when you are trying to connect to the VM.HectorOn Wed, 07 Nov 2012 08:01:52 +0100, Jan Benadik jan.bena...@atos.net wrote:

Is there any suspicious python process still running after
stopping sunstone that might be taking the 33876 port?

  (im seeing oneadmin 6942 0.0 0.0 0 0 pts/1 Z 10:10 0:00
[python] defunct)

  Anything in sunstone.error maybe?
