I had similar issues when I used 0.7 and 0.7.1.
Since upgrade to 0.7.2 such session issues didn't happen anymore. At least
the session errors no valid session shown on the browser disappeared
since the upgrade, didn't activate session logs.

Correct, givenName was a relict from the time before I used the
evolutionPerson
