Try to set
PasswordAuthentication yes
in file
/etc/ssh/sshd_config
on your ssh server where your maven repository is installad.

I had to set PasswordAuthentication to 'yes' in /etc/ssh/sshd_config as it
defaults to 'no'. Seems to be happy
