I would like to have two icons on the desktop: Writer and Calc. I would seldom if ever use anything else, and I would like to be able to access one of these directly, but I can't seem to break one out of the OO globe on the desktop. Is that possible, and if so, how? Thanx--doug ---

Paul, OpenOffice has five different components: Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress, and Base. I don't think it can recognize a Base file from a system double-click or other system routing. Try opening OO, then tell it to open the file you were sent. It may not work, but it's worth a try. Jim Plante
