I recently downloaded the 4.1.6 update to Open Office and can no longer access
any of my word or excel files. Cn you help in this matter?

Thanks for the ProjectLibre link. One caveat is that the Sourceforge
download page indicates that this free version will not print. That may
be a deciding factor for some people here, including the OP. Despite
that, I downloaded it and will check it out as an alternative to
OpenProj.

https://forum.openoffice.org ? If so, you need to log in there, go to
the User Control Panel using the link on the left near the top of the
page, click on the Profile tab and click on Edit Account Settings -
there you can change

Is possible to edit and to export an access file (.mbd) using Base?

Have a look at this extension:
If OpenOffice is lost then if you find .odt files in File Explorer you ought to
be able to "Open with" Word.
