Open Office becoming impossible to use- bug ridden

2023-05-29 Thread James Baker
In the last 2-3 months, it has become increasingly difficult to use both
spreadsheets and text documents. I add something minimal and the blue circle
pops up and I get the message “Not Responding”. Sometimes that stops after 5
minutes or so and I can continue and sometimes it continues for 30 minutes so I
have to use Task Manager to “End Task” and start over. Have others experienced
this? I don’t know if the has been an “improvement” made to OpenOffice that is
causing this or it has been hacked and malware inserted or what. Perhaps I will
erase my copy and import a new one to see if that helps anything.

Downloaded - Confused...

2023-05-29 Thread Mike Christensen
Downloaded the app and see all these files…many files.
Is there an EASY “how to” to use or access a spreadsheet.
…establishing an account…? Creating an account/logon…?
Excuse my ignorance, I guess I need the clueless version.
I just want to create a spreadsheet…that’s it.
Thanks

If you downloaded the Windows version, I think there is only supposed to be
one file (exe). Install exactly like you install everything else.
If you got a lot of files, it seems like you downloaded a Linux version,
which you only should do if you are using Linux, of course.
You don't need an account.

http://www.openoffice.org/download only.

I haven't used Apache OpenOffice for a very long time, but I guess someone
will correct me if I'm wrong.

Kind regards
