It sounds like you have the shape selected (ie. displaying the 8 green
resizing handles) while inserting the picture. In which case you should
click outside the shape to deselect it, then insert the picture.

Automatic conversion into Open Office documents - Wordpad

Hi, there

I just opened up one of my Wordpad documents,and found that it had been 
converted into an OpenOffice document.
This surprised me.
What surprises me even more, is that all myWordpad documents have been 
converted intoOpen Office documents.
How did this happen?
My PC had been automatically turned off, althoughI had put it to sleeping mode 
when I last left it.
I am wondering what is going on. Did Wordpad andOpen Office make any agreement 
about this, sothere is an automatic conversion into Open Office,or something?
How should I react to this?

I missed:  I'm still thinking about how to write the article.  I do
not have an idea on this yet.  I shall return to you ASAP.

Has it occurred to anybody else here that envelopes are just a “page style?” 
In fact, it’s already a built-in choice in AOO 4.1.3. 
So load one up in a new document. Fill in return address, and the primary 
address. Add an “ATTN:” line if it suits you. Put XXXs in the first line and 
last available line on the “envelope”, and print it on a blank sheet of A4 or 
Letter size paper. Do things fit? OK, try an real envelope. Did it work? Great! 
Do File -> Templates…::Save. Now you’ve got a rudimentary envelope template. 

But play around with it. For business matters, you may like to include fields 
for the addressee, address, address2, City, State, Zip/Postal Code. These can 
be either User Defined fields, or they can be fields that you’ve dragged and 
dropped from your contacts database. This latter one is cool, because you 
simply View Data Sources, select your contacts data, and drag the column 
headers into the proper places on the envelope template. Then when you select, 
say Henrik Schultz, his info is propagated to all data fields in the template. 
(And you spell his name correctly, instead of Heinrich like you usually do.) 
Got those fields placed? Good. File -> Templates…::Save. Overwrite the 
rudimentary one. Now you’ve got a working template. 

You can probably figure the rest out from here, but what you have so far will 
work. Remember that in AOO, styles are everything.

An alle die mit Präsentationen arbeiten Re: Wiederherstellung meiner Präsentation Fehlgeschlagen

Hallo an alle, die mit Präsentationen arbeiten. Vor allem, wenn da viele 
Bilder drin sind.


Beim Abspeichern unbedingt darauf achten, dass erst gespeichert wird und 
nach BEENDEN des Vorgangs geschlossen wird!
Automatisches Speichern zerstört wohl die Datei. (Vermute ich nach 
schlechten Erfahrungen)

Außerdem entweder ein Backup anlegen oder eigene Versionen.
Außerdem kann ich den Präsentations Minimizer empfehlen als Zusatzmodul. 
Kleinere Dateien lassen sich schneller speichern :-)


Ich konnte Dateien, die u.a. Fehlermeldung ergaben, nicht wieder 
herstellen. Sind schlicht weg! Aber die Vorversion gab es ja noch! :-) 
Außer beim ersten Mal :'(

nicht öffnen!!

Sorry, dass ich jetzt so harsch klinge, aber das ist nicht das erste mal, dass 
sowas passiert... aber da konnte ich es wenigstens noch wiederherstellen!

Einstellungen zu Email versenden im Serienbrief

Hallo,

beimir klappt das mit den Einstellungen zum Emailversenden nicht. Ich 
habe im Extra Menu writer Serienbrief Email jetzt alle möglichen 
Variationen ausprobiert.

Passwort  stimmt, habe ich einkopiert und es funktioniert direkt.

smtp.1und1.de Port 465

Mit und ohne Verschlüsselung und mit eigener oder Empfangsauthorisierung

Beim Testen kommt immer: OpenOffice konnte keine Verbindung zum 
Postausgangsserver herstellen. Bitte überprüfen Sie die 
Netzwerkeinstellungen Ihres Systems und Einstellungen in OpenOffice. 
Überprüfen Sie den Servernamen, den Port und die Sicherheitseinstellungen.


Firewall hatte ich auch schon aus gehabt.

Muss bei den Netzwerkeinstellungen des Systems irgend was exotisches 
eingetragen werden?


Sonst weiß ich nicht weiter
