If you are using an add on, make sure it is compatible with the updated version.

Google should be your friend when finding the latest download.. :-)

Yes Andrew, it worked! You nailed it. I think your thoughts about the extension 
I was using was not native to the file and caused the problem. What's funny 
though is that it had been working and saving my edits? I also like your idea 
of going with the new version is a wise move. I'm going to do that. Do you have 
the link for me to go to so I can download much faster?Thank you for all your

Jonathan,

the problem seems to be the two columns A and B which are hidden and empty !.
They contain no data and seem to confuse AOO Base.

Show the two columns again and fill one of them with an incrementing ID
Remove (if possible, the remaining empty column from the spreadsheet)

No need to "convert" to .odb if you choose the option "Connect to existing 
database"
Select "Spreadsheet" in the dropdown, which opens a fileselector, so you can 
browse to your spreadsheet.

After naming the new database it should work and you should see the table Sheet1

Nachtrag: die Liste der installierte Programme auch nach "unerwünschten" 
Programmen durchsehen,
die bei der Installation des gekauften OO ungewollt mitinstalliert 
worden sind und diese

unbeabsichtigt installierten Programme ebenfalls de-installieren!
