 It is very frustrating to simply type part of a line, then go to the next
 line, and type part of a line without open office writer double spacing.

 Get this:

 Blah blah blah

 Blah blah blah.

 I can single space partial lines by carriage return without causing double
 space on every app except open office writer; it automatically seems to
 double space. I don't really care why it does this, or how to get around
 it. Just change it, please!

 It is very very frustrating, making it impossible to create a
 professional-looking piece of writing.

 any Update available suggestion. What's the point of blaming others for
 your own decisions?

 Then of course, if you have a specific problem with AOO, which you cannot
 solve with the built-in Help system, most people on this list will be happy
 to help.

 To me, this mailing list is a much better option than any online user
 forums, where one has to dig through millions of posts hoping to find
 suitable solutions.

 So if you want to make the most of this mailing list, how about you post
 one (or more) specific questions that relate to your specific issues?

If you have enough hard disk storage, keeping OpenOffice is easier.
You can pay somebody else, if he is responsible.
It is possible that you need better antivirus or anti-malware tools.

 I don't think you can. You could copy any text and paste it into a text
 (Writer) document, which will then display some of what you need: you could
 spot double spaces, paragraph breaks, inappropriate tabs, and so on. This
 may (or may not) be a workaround.

 Here's another trick: you can search for non-printing characters using
 [:cntrl:] . This will discover some such characters in a presentation, but
 not all. You can also search for tabs using \t - and so on.

 openoffice opens the file it replaces the null with a # character.

 The software I am using to create the text file is unable to create the

 I could not figure out how to get openoffice to ignore the null, but I
 did figure out a fix for the problem.   I wrote a perl script that is
 activated before openoffice that removes the null at the end of the text
 file before it passes the file to openoffice.

 However, if there is a way for openoffice to do this I would be
 interested in your comments.

photos. But there is a best aspect ratio and a finest resolution. Your VGA
or DVI video may support the best aspect ratio and the finest resolution,
or not. Check your video driver from original company. When you are happy
with your windows programs, does Impress have correct aspect ratio, and
span?
