Well, I upgraded all the settings simply came along. I just downloaded
the 2.3 install and ran it. NOW that was with Windows can't say how
that goes on the Mac, but I would assume it should be as easy as on

HI,
I have been hearing of plenty of people installing under Vista without
a problem. Of course there is always some machine configuration that
will be difficult. But are you sure that the file you downloaded
didn't just become corrupt during the download?

Hi Dan,
I thought was added in the 2.3 release?
Impress does not yet have the ability to play a single sound file
throughout a slide presentation. The only way I know of accomplishing this
feat is to start a MP3 player at the same time you start the slide show.

Thank you, Dan. That helps explain why I couldn't get there.

Yup, just read it..it seems the last two comments are ... hmm...weak.
The one says don't do it the way you tried, but doesn't say how TO do
it.
Well, that looks like a fun diversion for a few minutes...I'll go try
it myself..and then when or if I figure it out, I;ll let you know I
did...MAYBE
Ok got it - it is very easy actually
Open your impress file.
On the first screen select 'Slide Show Slide Transition
In the task bar area for this you will see the control for Sound.
That is all there is to it.

Easy is a relative term, Andrew. And right now, easy is coming hard

Had been through the ritual both Andrew and Mike suggest. And tried again
now. What happens is that the song plays for the length of time the slide is
on

I am running OOo 2.3.0 on CentOS 5.0 (latest updates) and I cannot set

Why is that or how do I set this option? It's a pain to have to
restart the whole suite

Since months and years do not have regular count of days you need
DATE as a helper:
Same day, next month: =DATE(YEAR(A1);MONTH(A1)+1;DAY(A1))
Contrary to the lousy documentation, DATE can calculate dates by
positive, negative and zero arguments. It knows about leap years and
count
