[users] deleting paragraphs changes styles

OOo 2 has an annoying problem, at least to me. If I delete empty paragraphs just before a heading paragraph, then the style of the heading changes. Why is this? Why should the style of a paragraph change because I delete unrelated paragraphs before? Is it because OO has to ape the stupidity of MS
