Also, I noticed that the interface for assigning virtual networks to physical interfaces does NOT work correctly in the latest version of google chrome. I had to flip into firefox ... I'm not sure if that is documented any where. Well, google chrome is not officially supported browser. It works more or less, but you can not rely on it. The supported browsers are: On Linux the Firefox 17 and on Windows IE = 9. Web admin should have shown you a warning message that the current browser is not supported. But after a quick look at the wiki I did not find any mention about it. We should definitely add it somewhere, I'll try to find a suitable place. All nfs mount points were running okay at that time. After the VM has been snapshoot-ed went into pause mode and had to un-pause it from GUI, but the VM was still responsive through network and operations. Has anybody seen something related to this by now or it's just related to 3.1 version ? [...] os type=unassigned boot dev=cdrom/ /os [...] ...but the VM won't boot off the CD-ROM device, instead it just boots from the first harddisk. So what am I doing wrong? OK, the problem is still NOT solved, but I did some further investigation. First, the problem ONLY affects VMs with a bootable harddisk (and an operating system installed). A newly created VM is NOT affected and is able to boot from CD-ROM. Once I install an operating system, the VM will no longer be able to boot from CD-ROM. No matter what is configured as boot device... There is still only the following workaround to boot from CD-ROM: The only way I am able to boot from CD-ROM is when using the Run once function on the Admin Portal and configure the CD-ROM device/image there (temporarely overwriting my config). It will NOT work if I configure the CD-ROM device through the REST API or the Admin Portal. Just Run Once will do the right thing. Any idea how to debug this further and get a bugfix/working solution? oVirt is running fine, except this annoying bug makes it somewhat useless for us. Re: [Users] Problem with Win 7 VM creation
I have a iso image of the drivers in my iso storage. Just change CD and use the driver CD. Be sure to change it back to be the install Cd. The win7 error will look something like Can't install on that disk and it looks like it means the virtual hard drive after the driver installs and it sees the drive. It really means I don't have the install Cd anymore to install from. sigh windows... Re: [Users] virt-v2v fail - GuestfsHandle.pm error + Redhat.pm error

But here, the last two lines are lethal. It seems oVirt tries to guess which OS is imported, and tries to do specific actions, and do them bad. Either there's a way o prevent oVirt from guessing, either there's a way to correct the actions oVirt is failing to do... I think you had better to tell which version of virt-v2v and on which platform. eg: virt-v2v-0.8.7-7.el6_3.x86_64 on CentOS 6.3 otherwise the lines referred could not be the same as yours... Gianluca Hi Gianluca, Thank you for your answer. You are right, I have to precise the versions implied. - Fedora 17 64 bits - virt-v2v.x86_64version 0.8.8-1.fc17 - every ovirt component is of the family 3.1.0-4.fc17 I installed nothing exotic nor special. Just following the oVirt website doc. Do I have to debug the perl script, or is there an option I can tweak in the virt-v2v command? -- Nicolas Ecarnot ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
