[Users] Run Once: Invalid ISO image path

2013-05-14 Thread lof yer
I made rpm from latest src and installed as all-in-one. I put an iso in
iso-domain and saw it in the iso-list in the subtab
When I edited the vm and add the iso to the vm, clicked "run", it worked
fine.
If I clicked the "Run Once", I got an error like this: "
Error while executing action:
asd:

   - Invalid ISO image path

Re: [Users] Question on logical networks

2013-05-14 Thread Lior Vernia
Hello Lee,

This is definitely not supported in oVirt. Moreover, correct me if I'm
wrong, but I suspect such a network would not be very useful; non-tagged
packets from the non-tagged cluster would find it hard to make their way
to destinations in the tagged cluster.

Yours, Lior.

basically yes, but not recommended.
you will have to change the configuration to send 'pc' for the emulated machine,
as the value is different between the two, also live migration will probably
not work,
so you might experience some troubles with load balancing, maintenance of hosts
and so on.

we need to resolve emulation mode at cluster level for this (and then
you could use fedora and .el6 in different clusters).

[Users] "Create operation failed. Domain ISO already exists in the system."

2013-05-14 Thread j . astrego
Hi all,

Currently I have some problems with the ISO and Export domain. The domains
were pointing to an old nfs mount so I removed them.

I got a red cross with "failed to remove". I restarted the VM running
ovirt engine and the domains are gone in de storage view.

Now I try to add the ISO domain again to point it to the new nfs server
but I get the message "Create operation failed. Domain ISO already exists
in the system."

There is nothing in the logs and I can't find where it's configured. Can
anyone tell me where to look and how to fix this manually?

Running ovirt-engine 3.2.1-1

Hi Ryan, the IE8 improvements will be available in the next oVirt release that
will be rebased from master.
I assume this version would be oVirt 3.3, which is currently planned to be
released on July:

Re: [Users] Vlan interface on top of bonding

2013-05-14 Thread René Koch (ovido)

Hi,

Is VM Network grayed out in "Assign/Unassign Networks" windows in
clusters tab or is it grayed out in "Edit Logical Network" in data
centers tab?

Afaik you have to define vm network for a data center not for a cluster...

Regards,
René

Hi Itamar,

I've read the doc you pointed (actually I didn't look before in red hat,

Do I have to tune something in the config so new networks are not VM
networks by default?

Re: [Users] Vlan interface on top of bonding

2013-05-14 Thread Lior Vernia
Hello Juan Pablo,

If I'm correctly reading the configuration values in my database, non-VM
(AKA bridgless networks) are only enabled for 3.2 datacenters/clusters
onwards, so if upgrading is an option that should do the trick.

Otherwise, if it's important enough and you're feeling gutsy, it MIGHT
be possible to hack your way into enabling it for your cluster. It's
actually funny that you see this option in a version of oVirt that
doesn't support it - I'm not familiar with the history of the feature,
but maybe the checkbox had been added prior to the feature being introduced.

Yours, Lior.

Re: [Users] Vlan interface on top of bonding

2013-05-14 Thread Juan Pablo Lorier
Hi Lior,

Thanks for the tip. I don't know if I can move to 3.2 as the centos
repos are not there yet and I'm not quite sure of moving (compile 3.2)
to a version without "stable" dependencies for a system almost in
production.
I'm trying to move stuff into vlans so I can share the interfaces.
I'd like to know if I can configure network stuff manually in the host
so ovirt won't change it when network configuration is made from the
manager. Network management seems not to be very flexible in this version.

Re: [Users] Vlan interface on top of bonding

2013-05-14 Thread Lior Vernia
I went over the thread again, do I understand correctly that you've
managed to get ovirtmgmt VLAN-tagged and working? That's the hard part,
once there you should be able to tag all other networks through the
oVirt engine quite easily.

What Moti and I said about a non-VM network living together with VLANs
was relevant to oVirt 3.2, it might not be true for 3.1 (Moti is more
experienced than me, he might be able to confirm Thurday). So VLANs are
probably your best shot.

Is there a concrete problem that you're facing right now? Again, the
configuration of VLAN networks from the engine should work alright
without requiring you to configure the hosts manually.

Lior.

Ämne: [Users] Guest never gets removed
Datum: Wed, 8 May 2013 05:06:57 +

Hi,

yesterday I issued a remove of a Guest and then immediately afterwards engine
started complaining about sync errors between database and storage metadata. To
my surprise, both of my two data stores were marked as master in their storage
metadata files. I had to change "MASTER_VERSION" and "ROLE", then tail the vdsm
log on a Host and watch it complain that the checksum is wrong and how it is
${X} but should be ${Y} according to it´s logic, and copy/paste tbe correct
checksum into storage metadata file as well. This had to be done for both data
domains, and when done, I have one "Master"- and one "Regular" domain that
works and equals what´s in the database.

The problem is that engine now apparently has forgotten about my Guest that it
was supposed to remove before all of this... The operation is still listed in
"Tasks", so it´s not quite finished yet. Since it´s changed state to
"hourglass" and status "Image locked", I can´t click for removal again either...

Is there any way to "remind" engine of a job not done?
